Hans Herzog Viognier 2009
- Region: Marlborough
- Tasting Notes:
It has retained the deep yellow colour of the ripe grapes and offers a heady wine with rich aromas and flavours of apricot, peach and tropical flowers. Full-bodied with significant weight and texture, balanced by a good acidity that provides a remarkable backbone to the wine.
"All the wines from this winery are very attractive with a full body, clean aromas, and a general elegance of style. Perhaps the most original is the Viognier, which has such a pure and natural perfume of apricot that it could easily be taken for a fine Condrieu – unusual for the normally extrovert New World Viogniers."
