Herzog Riesling 2010

- Tasting Notes: A true reflection of the terroir and winemaker, this Riesling is notable for its amazing flavours, structure & density with powerful crispness, floral, honeyed aromas and great minerality. The natural raciness is followed by a light sweetness and a dry finish offering a wonderful sensation.
We handpicked our Riesling grapes on 21st April 2010 with 23.5 brix at less than 1kg per vine. Riesling is the great noble variety of Germany and could claim to be the world’s finest white grape variety on the basis of its longevity and ability to transmit the characteristics of a vineyard without losing Riesling’s own inimitable style.
The grapes were whole bunch pressed with 50% of the juice being fermented and aged for 9 months in French oak puncheons and 50% in steel tanks both on its fine lees. No fining and only very light filtration.
