In the late 90’s Howard Paterson and Steve Cozens had a vision to see the Waitaki Valley of North Otago become one of this country’s premium sites for outstanding wine growing.

After much trial and tribulation, thanks to limestone rich soils, an extended growing season and limited frost risk, a stellar team including Steve, multi-award winning winemaker Michelle Richardson and arguably New Zealand’s highest profile Chef, Peter Gordon, have created a unique range of exceptional food wines that reflect the unique terroir from which they are derived.

Even Jancis Robinson selected Waitaki Braids’ Pinot Noir as one of only nine wines in the World, that "were so good they are destined to become classics of the future".
