Valli - Otago

Grant Taylor’s name is synonymous with Otago Pinot Noir. He has been crafting wines there since 1993 when the region was in its infancy with only 20 ha planted, (today there are over 1700). Grant’s accomplishments are well known in the wine world, he is possibly New Zealand’s most awarded Pinot Noir producer. During the past 17 years he has produced the first wines for a number of iconic Otago wineries, but now the focus is solely on his own label, Valli.

Established in 1998 the aim of Valli is to produce single vineyard wines with an emphasis on expressing site with clarity and purity. Valli, based around the close planted estate vineyard in Gibbston, also produces a Pinot Noir from Bannockburn and one from North Otago’s exiting new wine growing region, the Waitaki Valley. Valli also produces one white, a dry Riesling from 30 year old vines in the Alexandra basin.

With quality in mind and attention to detail in the vineyard and winery, these wines perfectly reflect the place they come from… and are rightly proud of it!
